Crispy Chicken Strips

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken

  • Slice the chicken fillets into evenly sized strips.
  • Pat them dry with paper towels.

Step 2: Make the Marinade

In a large bowl, whisk together:

  • Eggs
  • Minced garlic
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Paprika
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Italian seasoning (if using)

Add the chicken strips and toss until fully coated.

Let marinate for 15–30 minutes for extra flavor.

Step 3: Prepare the Coating

In a shallow bowl, combine:

  • Flour
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Paprika
  • Black pepper

Mix well.

Step 4: Coat the Chicken

  • Remove each chicken strip from the egg mixture.
  • Coat thoroughly in the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Press gently so the coating sticks well.

Arrange the coated strips on a plate.

Step 5: Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F).
  • Line a baking tray with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Step 6: Bake

  • Place the coated chicken strips on the prepared baking tray, leaving a little space between each piece.
  • Lightly spray or brush with olive oil.

Bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until:

  • The coating is golden brown.
  • The chicken reaches an internal temperature of 74°C (165°F).

For extra crispiness, broil for the last 2–3 minutes, keeping a close eye on them.

Optional: Fry Instead

If you prefer fried chicken strips:

  • Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil to 175°C (350°F).
  • Fry the chicken strips in batches for 4–5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and fully cooked.
  • Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Step 7: Serve

Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces, such as:

  • Honey mustard
  • Ranch dressing
  • BBQ sauce
  • Buffalo sauce
  • Garlic aioli
  • Sweet chili sauce

Tips for Perfect Chicken Strips

  • Panko breadcrumbs create an extra-crispy coating.
  • Don’t overcrowd the baking tray, or the chicken won’t crisp evenly.
  • Marinating the chicken for at least 15 minutes enhances flavor and tenderness.
  • Flip the strips halfway through baking for an even golden crust.
