 Cheddar Cheese Puffs

Ingredients

1 cup water

½ cup unsalted butter

1 cup all-purpose flour

4 large eggs

1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

½ tsp salt

½ tsp garlic powder (optional)

¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

Preheat the oven
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Heat butter and water
In a saucepan, combine water and butter. Heat over medium until the butter melts and the mixture begins to simmer.

Add flour
Add the flour all at once and stir quickly. Cook while stirring until the dough forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

Cool slightly
Remove from heat and let the dough cool for 2–3 minutes.

Add eggs
Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough becomes smooth.

Add cheese and seasoning
Stir in:

shredded cheddar cheese

salt

garlic powder

black pepper

Shape the puffs
Drop spoonfuls or pipe small mounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.

Bake
Bake for 20–25 minutes until the puffs are golden brown and puffed up.
