1. Prep
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F)
Grease or line a loaf pan or round cake tin
2. Slice the apples
Peel and core the apples
Slice them very thinly (this is key to the “invisible” texture)
3. Make the batter
In a bowl, whisk together:
Eggs
Sugar
Vanilla
Add melted butter and milk, mix well
4. Add dry ingredients
In another bowl, combine:
Flour
Baking powder
Cinnamon
Salt
Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until smooth
5. Combine apples & batter
Gently fold the apple slices into the batter
Make sure every slice is coated (it will look like mostly apples—that’s normal!)
6. Assemble
Pour mixture into prepared pan
Press down lightly to compact
Sprinkle almonds on top
7. Bake
Bake for 50–60 minutes, until:
Golden on top
Set in the center
8. Cool & serve
Let cool in the pan for ~15 minutes
